Serving at Church

There are many ways to serve in God's kingdom at Our Savior. Below is a list of some of the ways of serving with more listed on the form at the bottom of this page.  You can complete the form and click submit if you'd like more information on volunteering in a particular area.
Serving &Welcoming
Volunteers for Serving and Helping work to make the environment welcoming, engaging and inspirational.
Altar Guild - maintains and prepares the altar and chancel area for all worship services. Prepares for communion and baptisms when scheduled.

Coffee & Snacks - prepares coffee, drinks, and snacks to be served following 8:00 and 10:45 worship services.

Greeters - Welcomes folks as they enter the foyer of the church and gladly answers any questions they may have.

Ushers - Welcome folks as they enter the Sanctuary and will assist with finding seats, answering questions, gathering the offering, and any other way they can.

Readers - read the chosen scriptures for the given worship service to the congregation.

Property/Grounds - improve and maintain the property and grounds of Our Savior
Music & Tech
Volunteers in Music & Tech seek to enhance worship and to lead others in worship through music, technology and media. For tech positions, we gladly train all of our volunteers in the areas they wish to serve.
Audio Tech - Runs the audio elements of worship services and other events. For our Contemporary services this includes audio mixing for a full band. Audio at our Traditional services is usually handled by the Screens Tech
Choir - presents anthems and special pieces during Traditional services. The choir meets one evening during the week to rehearse. 
Handbells - rings preludes and other special pieces for the Traditional services.

Screens Tech - Switches the screens for lyrics, readings, and video presentations at worship services. During traditional services this volunteer usually handles the audio tech elements as well.

Worship Band - Vocalists and instrumentalist lead the music for our Contemporary service. Acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, keyboards, and drums/percussion are used on a regular basis for this group.

IT - Information Tech to assist with office processes and networks.

Website - and Website design work to utilize the internet for communication and marketing.
Lead & Teach
Teachers and leaders are the lifeblood of a church. Teachers communicate God's word and application for our lives. Leaders organize and communicate the vision of the church.

Board Member
Serve at the request of the church to oversee the broad ministry areas of the church. Through prayer, discussion and voting they make decisions concerning the mission, actions and funding of the church.

Bible Study Leader - Teaches and leads Bible study during Sunday Morning or at other specified times and locations for the spiritual growth and edification of others. Bible study leaders may serve in a continuous manner or for a specific Bible class series.

Ministry Coordinator - Serves as the point person for specific ministries such as Room in the Inn, Upward Sports or Altar Guild. They are responsible for coordinating schedules, events, and volunteers involved with the particular ministry. Ideally, coordinators are individuals that have served as volunteers in the ministry of which they are coordinating.

Sunday School Teacher - Leads and teaches specific age groups ranging from Preschool to High School in fun and engaging ways. These classes are scheduled to take place on Sunday Morning and many are team taught.

Stephen Ministry - Stephen Ministry is a one-to-one lay caring ministry that takes place within our congregation.  We equip and empower our trained lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.
