What We Believe

“Jesus answered, ‘I am the Way and the Truth and the Life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.'”
– John 14:6

Our Mission & Vision

Doctrine

With the universal Christian Church, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod teaches and responds to the love of the Triune God:

the Father, creator of all that exists;

Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan; and

the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God’s Word
and Sacraments.

The three persons of the Trinity are coequal and coeternal,
one God.

What is the Lutheran Church?

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) is a denomination that confesses the historic, orthodox Christian faith, a faith built on “the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone” (Eph. 2:20).

The LCMS, headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., is mission-oriented and Bible-based. LCMS doctrine reflects the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther, as summarized in The Book of Concord: The Confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Today, the LCMS has nearly 2 million baptized members in more than 6,000 congregations and some 9,000 pastors. Two seminaries and nine colleges and universities operate under the auspices of the LCMS, and its congregations operate the largest Protestant parochial school system in America.

Beliefs & Values

We accept and preach the Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. The teaching of Luther and the reformers can be summarized in three phrases: Grace alone, Faith alone, Scripture alone.

God’s Word

Centered in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Bible is God’s truth for our lives and the foundation for everything we do.

Spiritual Growth

The Holy Spirit brings us into a closer relationship with God through relevant daily Bible study & passionate prayer, inspiring weekly worship including faithful celebration of the sacraments and active involvement in the vibrant life of the church.

Love

Understanding God’s undeserved love for us compels us to love Him and all people unconditionally.

Service

Empowering and equipping everyone to realize, develop and use their God-given time, talents and treasures in service to His church and our community and experiencing the sense of great joy in becoming all that God wants them to be.

Outreach

Sharing the Good News of salvation with the world around us, specifically meeting the needs of the inactive & un-churched and bringing them into an active & growing relationship with Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit.
