The Bible is filled with descriptions of God’s people gathering  together to enjoy a meal. Jesus broke break together with His disciples at the Last Supper and tells us about a heavenly  banquet yet to come. The early church followed His example as we see recorded in Acts 2:42:

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”

Tables of Eight is an opportunity for a member of OSLC, married or single, to share a meal with 7 other members of the congregation several times over the course of a year. The emphasis of these gatherings is on fellowship, so there’s no accompanying Bible Study, nor is there an expectation of culinary perfection. Our goal is simply to get to know each other and to invite the Holy Spirit to be present among us as we break bread.
